Ricoh developer talks digicam firmware

Japan's Ricoh Co. Ltd. has posted an interview with one of the company's development team on the Front Runner section of its website. Engineer Haike Guan works on research and development at Ricoh's Software Research Center in Beijing, China, including R&D for image processing and image security technologies. In the interview, Mr. Guan discusses his education and background with Ricoh, and goes on to cover some of the specific development work in which he's played a role. Ricoh updates CX2 firmware

Japan's Ricoh Co. Ltd. has announced an updated firmware release for its nine megapixel CX2 digital camera. Ricoh CX2 firmware v1.14 includes the same changes made in the recent v1.13 release, as well as correcting an issue with delayed startup in My Settings mode with certain settings combinations. The new firmware, as well as details on how to check your camera's current firmware version and to apply the firmware update if necessary, can be found on Ricoh's website.

Pentax K-x firmware v1.01

Pentax has released firmware version 1.01 for its entry-level K-x digital SLR. Available now via Pentax Japan's support website, the update adds some minor features, and is said to offer better battery status accuracy, as well as "improved stability for general performance". Changes to V1.01 Added three kinds of particular effect shooting function (Pre-set 1,2 and 3) on [Cross Processing]. Added assignment of Cross Processing function to the green button.
